FAQs about Funerals

Do celebrants interview the family at home?

CCGA celebrants will arrange to visit you as soon as possible. We regard this as a mark of our professional service and concern for our clients.

Can family and friends participate in the ceremony?

CCGA celebrants encourage family and friends to take part in the ceremony as they wish. Some may wish to present a eulogy, others to give a significant reading. Others may prefer a less taxing role such as lighting a candle, placing flowers or symbols on the coffin, or greeting and seating people.

Can we have something religious in our ceremony such as a reading from the Bible or a prayer?

Yes. Civil celebrants will create a ceremony that reflects your values.

In the case of a burial, will a civil celebrant continue on to the cemetery for the committal?

Many families request this and CCGA celebrants welcome such requests.
